Women's Ministries at FCC
Christian Women's Fellowship (CWF) is for all women of the church. All women in the church are invited to participate in the CWF.
All women of the church are invited to the Women’s Ministries Brunch beginning at 10:00 am on Monday, March 17. The brunch will be provided by Group 4. Patty Alford, the Director of Girls, Inc. will share about the work at Girls, Inc. Our current service project is to provide notebooks and erasers for Church World Service. Also, at this brunch we will collect the Blessing Box Offering for 2008. If you currently have a Blessing Box, please bring it with you. If you do not have a Blessing Box and would like one, we will have them at the brunch or contact Carole Harned and she will get one to you.
Someone recently asked, “What is a Blessing Box”? Here are examples that three of our women are currently using. Other women at First Christian use a jar or other container. A Blessing Box is a container to place coins or “folded dollars” as an expression of gratitude for God’s blessings.
The Blessing Box on the left belongs to Pat Kafoglis. Pat has used this box for 20 to 25 years. Her first Blessing Box fell apart! The one on the right belongs to Louise Culp. Louise has used her Blessing Box since joining First Christian over 12 years ago. The one in the middle is the current design.
The money given in Blessing Boxes goes to help support the ministries of the International Disciples Women’s Ministries in the US and abroad.
Volunteers are needed for Saturday, March 29, as we host the Kentucky Disciples Women’s Ministries Spring Conference. There is a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board in Carter Hall. We need volunteers from 8:30 to 10:00 am to help in the parking lot. We also need volunteers from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm to serve lunch and to help clean up after lunch.
