Join us for a full day at Land Between the Lakes! We'll meet at FCC at 9 a.m. and ride the van if enough sign up.
We'll hike the Honker Lake Trail**, which is about 5 miles, visit the Woodland Nature Station, and have a cookout picnic.
Eat a good breakfast (or bring it along), and pack water, snacks and a lunch to eat on the trail. Honker Lake Trail is a loop around the lake, which isn't very strenuous – there is only really one steep hill – but it is about 5 miles and should take at least couple of hours, so be aware of possible physical limits.
Afterward, we'll go up the hill to visit the Woodland Nature Station. Admission is $5 for ages 13+, $3 ages 5-12, free for ages 4 and under. Visit the website for more info: https://www.landbetweenthelakes.us/seendo/attractions/nature-station/
Finally, we'll pick a spot at the picnic area beside Hematite Lake and fire up the grill for a cookout/picnic dinner (which could very well include s'mores!!).
We should be back to the church between 8 and 9 p.m. and you'll be sure to sleep well :)
RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org or sign up on the mission bulletin board.
**If 5 miles is too much for some, nearby Hematite Lake has a 2.5 mile trail if the group wants to split up. The shorter-hike group can go to the Nature Center and visit longer.
